This pure 100% Manuka Honey is certified to have an MGO rating of 250, which equates to a minimum of 250mg of methylglyoxal (MGO) per kilo of honey. It has a darker amber colour and strong aroma. This is because it has high number of polyphenols that help with eradicating free radicals in your body. It contains no preservatives or additives of any kind; and has been extracted and processed at a low temperature (36 – 38oC) to maintain its natural raw goodness. Manuka honey is a delicious sweetener for beverages and supports well-being and boosts immunity. It has proven anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.
How to use?
Manuka Honey can be eaten straight from the spoon, naturally good and delicious. It is excellent addition to soothing hot lemon drinks and a little fresh ginger. It can also be dissolved in a little warm water and added to iced tea.
While Manuka can of course be added to any recipe, it will maintain the natural levels of MGO best in raw dishes. Enjoy honey at breakfast time drizzled on porridge, muesli or yoghurt, on toast, crumpets or pancakes. Manuka is also yummy in smoothies, particularly green leaf blends.
Use it in raw food recipes including chia puddings, Acai bowls, slices and super balls. It is also great in salad dressings – especially with mustard or drizzled over steamed vegetables. Manuka honey is also an ideal ingredient for home-made everyday facial.
If honey crystallises which is a natural occurrence, place jar in warm water until crystals dissolve.
